Meet the New-ish Design Team!

Image
February 1st - July 31st, 2015 I can't believe it's been six months since my very first Design Team started (art)working for me! I can't believe I never had one before!! Honestly, I was quite nervous about how it would work out - I've never been on a DT myself, so I had no idea what to expect or what they would expect of me! I did quite a bit of research before I wrote the DT Call back in the spring of 2014, looking at a numerous amount of other DT Calls, and after weeks of drafting, rewriting, editing and starting all over, I was finally relatively content with my own DT Call, put my brave hat on and published it ... It didn't take long before the first application arrived. I was blown away when I saw her artwork and I asked myself why such a talented artist would want to be on MY Design Team! Seriously! I had just recently launched my blog, my stamp company was not well known at all , and all I could offer in return for being on my DT was a few lousy stamps

Snowy Valentine!!!

Image
Hi Everyone My turn to share a tutorial with you today.  The Design Team were given the prompt of frosty for this months projects and what started out as a potential Christmas Card ended up as a Snowy Valentine - the choice is yours! I mixed up my stamp sets this month and used a bird from Vintage Birds, a sprig of pine from Pines Fir Yew (love that title) and last but not least the sentiment and kiss came from Winter Wonderland.  All of course are available from your local Rubber Dance shop!!! Once I had stamped my two little birds canoodling on the wire my card took a romantic turn. Don't you just love the little kisses stamp that comes with this set of wintery sentiments?!  On the video tutorial I will walk you through how to create this frosty looking card for yourself.  Hope you enjoy watching and get inspired to get frosty yourself! Cutting Guide: White Card Base:  11 1/2" x 5 3/4" scored at 5 3/4" or 29 cm x 14.5 cm scored at 14.5 cm Blue Ca

First art journal page with my word for 2014

Image
Hello everyone! It's Irit from the Design Team here today. Last year I picked a word for my crafty life. The word was DARE. I think I followed this word in my crafting and dared to try things I never did before. Some of those things were successful, some  were less, but at least I tried hard to follow my path. The only thing I didn't try last year was a real art journalling. I didn't even have a real journal to work with. I have one now and today I want to share with you my very first art journal double spread with this so obvious title : DARE. I am not sure if this is the way art journal should look, but it's my journal and my way of art expression, so I think I like it this way. I made the background with lots of mediums, paper pieces, mesh, tapes and a lot of stencils used with texture paste. I stamped with Rubber Dance background stamps and added the main sentiment using Think Again set. The word Dare was made with stencil and black ink. The eyes are th

Birds Mixed Media Canvas

Image
Hi everyone! It's me, Susanne, today and I am really proud to share with you my "Birds" mixed media canvas. It's one of the canvases I created for the Faber-Castell Paperworld booth, which is at the end of January in Germany. When I received the awesome "Vintage Birds" stamps from Rubber Dance I could only think about spring! So I tried to get some "winter-to-spring" feeling in my canvas. I used the browns to show the wet ground and the old grass. The blue stands for a blue and sunny sky. Additionally to the lovely stamps I used some stencils. You will get all the information about the supplies in the video description. I had so much fun creating. Hopefully you will have fun watching the process video. Have a nice day everyone! See you soon, Susanne . To find the stamps I have used, here's the Rubber Dance web shop: www.rubberdance.com
