August Recap - inspirations!

Image
August is waving its goodbyes, so it's time to show some of the pretties that the Design Team and I have made with my stamps this month. Enjoy the show!  The DT and I hope we've inspired you to make your own pretties, and also given you some ideas on how to use your stamps from Rubber Dance. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!  XOX, Bibi ♥

Dare to dream a little dream ... Canvas by Majo

Image
Hi everybody, it's Majo again to share with you a canvas card I created with my MOST favorite stamp from the Da Vinci Set . Let me show you how I made this ... I started with these items: I cut a piece of 4 x 5½ " of sticky canvas and applied some white Gesso. I didn't go all the way to the edges since the canvas will take colour better without the Gesso. I coloured with Gelatos in Salmon, Yellow and Green. This is what it looks like when you water it down: I sprinkled some salt to add texture, with the salt still on: .... and brushed off: While it tried I distressed the edges ...  And that's when I stared goofing. I tried to add embossing paste with my Tim Holtz stencil and didn't realize that it wouldn't stick to my Gelato background :( Ok, no harm done, I just washed it off, dried it again and used Peeled Paint Distress ink. (Sorry, no picture, too excited by my mistake) I stamped my

Things With Wings - ATCs by Bibi

Image
Hello everyone! Just recently I did two things that I rarely do: I joined a swap AND I made ATCs!  The reason why I don't make ATCs very often is that the size is so small - I'm just not used to creating anything of that size (635 mm x 890 mm /3.5 x 2.5 inches). But - I do love a good challenge, so I scratched my head for a couple of weeks ... and once I got going it was quite fun! The theme was "Things With Wings" and we had to make three different ATCs. Here are mine, all made with stamps from my own company. Letter stamps from unknown ... (let me know if you know which company!) I really like those, so I guess I could make something similar - perhaps a bit bigger, though...  I cut the wings out so they stand up: For another swap (same hostess), I made this postcard using stamps from Quietfire Design (calligraphy sentiment) and Cherry Pie Art Stamps: Thanks for stopping by today! Till next time, be good and ... remember t

My August Affirmations

Image
Hello, nice to see you here at Rubber Dance art stamps! My name is Gabriele from Art-a-tag and I am a mixed media artist from Germany. I am very happy about this month's release AFFIRMATIONS. Thank you Katy and Bibi! That is a stamp set I will use very often. It is perfect for my Art Journaling and my kind of making art. And I love to use text as a design element. I made a little video, to show in which way I use these great stamps. To better explain some material I used, I made some additional photos. The tag had a background I set aside some time ago, because I did not have the right motive for it yet. But "dream" is just it! I just had to emboss the word dream with that yummy creamy pink with glitter, adding some shadow for the 3D effect with pencil and stamp "I want to" - almost done. The butterflies are on washi tape and the embellishments with affirmations are created with shrink film. Just stamp on the foil with permanent ink, cut into
